PC490 Dowel Slot
Cutter Features
- Cuts slots for the
retrofitting of Dowel Bars in jointed concrete movement. The
PC490 cuts all 6 slots at once, using 2 cutting heads (one for each
wheel path).
- Due to the long stroke
cylinder on each head, the PC490 can be used to cut slots on straight
or skewed transverse joints, or random cracks. Each head can be
operated simultaneously or individually. After the cutting
parameters are set, the cutting process is done automatically through
PLC-controlled hydraulic circuitry.
- In the automatic mode,
once the operator has the machine aligned, he simply pushes the on
button to begin the cutting cycle. When the slots are complete,
the blades return to their preset starting position and the operator
moves the machine to the next joint. The auto-mode greatly
enhances the productivity and extends blade life. Production
rates of more than 100 slots per hour are not uncommon.
- The heads are
hydraulically driven. Each head is closed loop powered by a
Deutz liquid cooled diesel engine. Each engine develops 258 HP
at 2300 rpm. Auziliary pumps mounted on each engine provide oil
flow for all of the machine functions.
- Machine ground drive is
by joystick control to 4 wheel drive hydrostatic powered toque hubs
with wet disc brakes. Wheels are solid rubber 22" x
10" x 16". Travel speed is approximately 130
fpm. A steering wheel controls the front wheels. Rear
wheels steer (when needed is by job-switch).
Special configuration
diamond blades are used. Normal blade diameter is 20" for
6-inch deep cut. The machine can accept up to 24" diameter
blades. |
